The concept of personal development has been around for many decades. The practice itself came from the observation that many successful people learned how to become successful by carefully studying and applying a number of techniques. By the time adolescents reach the age of thirteen, they start thinking about personal development in terms of their future, which is generally a positive one as well. The desire for personal development is so strong that most adolescent will go to great lengths in order to achieve it. Many adolescents’ self evaluation and analysis will include looking at their body image, developing their confidence level, their social relationships, their self-esteem, communication skill etc. In addition, most adolescents’ personal development will focus on enhancing their spiritual well being. They will try to understand their purpose in life, their connection to the divine, learn to love and serve people and become more compassionate and socially acceptable. They will learn to be assertive and self-confident. In addition, many adolescents will engage in personal development activities such as learning a foreign language, taking up a hobby, joining a community organization, participating in sports and games, reading books and watching educational films etc.
Many adolescents take a religious life when it comes to personal development. Usually they believe that personal development is linked to religious beliefs and practices. Therefore, they may spend some time daily attending church services, pray, wear religious clothing etc. In addition, most adolescents will be involved in various spiritual and social activities, which strengthen the bond between them and God.
The most important thing about personal development is its positive result. Most psychologists agree that if a person gets involved in the activities he is involved in, he will develop his talents and skills and become more competent. Therefore, adolescents should choose activities that are of interest to them and that help them develop their talents and skills. When you have chosen the right activities, you must put in adequate efforts to complete them. This will make you happy and also help you build up your self esteem. However, before you choose any activity, you must make sure that it is safe for you.
A major part of the personal development of adolescence is the change in attitude of the adolescents towards themselves and towards life. Many adolescents have a habit of believing that personal development is unnecessary and useless.
